Recycling
Yellowknife has had a recycling program since 1990, when Ecology North identified the need for one. The City took over the program in 1994 and has been running it since then. The current program uses a "depot" system, where residents have to sort their items into bins at locations across the city.
Water Works
The Works Division carries out the operations and maintenance programs which cover the delivery of basic municipal services, such as the provision of piped or trucked sewer and water services to all residents, the provision of garbage collection, the maintenance and repair of the City's roadways and sidewalks.
