Health Care Program
Each NWT resident enrolled with the NWT Health Care Plan is given a Health Care Card with a unique lifetime identifier for health care called a personal health number. This number remains the same, regardless of any changes to personal status.
Department of Health & Social Services
The NWT health and social services system is made up of the Department and eight Authorities. In addition, there are non-government organizations and private professionals (including dentists) who provide services through agreements with the Department and/or Authorities.
