The first thing people planning a move often think about are boxes. Since just about everything you own will go into boxes, plan to have a large number of boxes of all different shapes and sizes.

Other helpful moving supplies include protective products that keep your items from getting damaged during the move. Examples include packing peanuts, many of which are now biodegradable, and bubble wrap, as well as packing tape, sturdy rubber bands, and a couple of markers so that you can write where each box should go and whether it should be handled with special care.

These supplies tend to go more quickly than you think they will, so buy more than you think you need. It's far better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
