Serious writers looking for an erudite quote may want access to McMaster University, home of the scholarly study of Bertrand Russell, British philosopher and peace advocate. The Bertrand Russell Archives came to the university library in 1968 -- two years before Russell's death at the age of 98.

One thing is clear, as home to both a beloved Canadian Football League team, the Hamilton Tiger Cats and a philharmonic orchestra, Hamilton seems to live up to Russell's advice that one should have a general attitude of welcoming to everybody.
