It all started in the back of the Shamrock Fruit Store near the muddy streets of First Street and 101A Avenue. Three ink-stained newsmen rolled 1,000 copies of a scrappy little newspaper off the presses for the first time. It was Nov. 11, 1903 and Edmonton, a town of 4,000, was beginning to boom.
The first issue of The Edmonton Sun rolled off the presses April 2, 1978. The first issue of the Saturday Sun came out Sept. 17, 1994. The newspaper is published seven days a week and is available through home delivery, vendor boxes and retail outlets.
