If you are moving to a new Province or Territory from within Canada or from the United States, Germany, China or another country, provinces and territories have differnent regulations on the amount of time you can use a valid license from your country of origin. Alberta Drivers License and Vehicle Registration

Once you arrive in Alberta, you have 90 days to exchange your existing licence and vehicle registration.

British Columbia Drivers License, Vehicle Registration and Insurance (ICBC)

Manitoba Driver License, Registration and Auto Insurance

You have up to 3 months to switch your valid out-of-province vehicle registration and insurance.

New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Registration
As part of Public Safety department, drivers license and vehicle registration infotmation can be found on the New Brunswick government website. Drivers from Canadian Provinces or the United States may exchange their licence Class for Class, including Class 7, without taking any driver’s test or providing a medical provided certain requirements are met. Newfoundland & Labrador Vehicle Registration & Driver Licencing

Individuals taking up residence from another province or territory in Canada can exchange their existing licence for a Newfoundland driver's licence without taking a written, vision or road test. You must exchange your existing driver's licence within 3 months of taking up residence. Non residents can operate a vehicle for a maximum period of 3 months in one year without registering vehicle in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Nova Scotia Drivers and Vehicles

Northwest Territories Drivers and Vehicle Services

The Motor Vehicles Division is responsible for road safety, driver testing, licensing and records, registering and inspection of motor vehicles, issuing identification cards and maintaining the motor vehicle accident database.

Ontario License and Vehicle Registration

Prince Edward Island License and Registration

Québec Société de l'assurance automobile
Le titulaire d'un permis étranger valide a le droit de circuler sur les routes du Québec pendant 6 mois consécutifs. Passé ce délai, il doit posséder un permis de conduire international et, s'il décide de s'établir dans la province, il doit obtenir un permis du Québec qu'il peut demander dès son arrivée.

Saskatchewan License and Vehicle Registration
