Brandon Humane Society The Brandon Humane Society has been in operation since 1946 when it was founded by Eleanor Kidd. She originally housed the shelter in her garage on 13th Street, then in an abandoned stable near Empress Bay, and later in an old barn near the riverbank where Eleanor Kidd Gardens are now located.
Canadian Forces Base Shilo Located in southwestern Manitoba, 35 kilometres east of Brandon, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shilo has been the site of military activity in the region since 1910. The training area of CFB Shilo covers almost 40,000 hectares, an area approximately 15 km by 30 km.

Brandon Public Library A library card is free to residents of the City of Brandon, the Towns of Carberry, Neepawa and Hartney, the Village of Glenboro, and the Rural Municipalities of North Cypress, South Cypress, Langford and Cameron. People who live outside these communities are required to pay a yearly non-resident fee in order to register for a library card. Because this cost may vary from year to year, please contact the Branch of the WMRL System closest to you if you would like more information about using the Library.
